My paintings, influenced primarily by many of the impressionists and post impressionists, develop out of a process that is not fully conceived at the outset.  The multiple changes each canvas is subjected to is part of a constant editing. The unexpected combinations of colours, designs and even the negative spaces emerge to create a certain order for me. I lightly overpaint areas constantly to achieve various subtle colour rewards and reactions, particularly in backgrounds.

My paintings are often described as playful, jovial or whimsical — that, I expect, is because I have so much fun painting them.  ~ Audrey
